KPK Arrests Bimanesh Sutarjo in Setya Novanto`s Case  

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Bimanesh Sutarjo after 10 hours of investigation. Bimanesh is a doctor at private hospital Medika Permata Hijau charged with obstruction of justice in Setya Novanto’s investigation process.

“He is detained in Guntur Correctional Facility for the first 20 days," KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said on Friday evening, Jan. 12.

Febri Diansyah stated that KPK has obtained a strong evidence for Bimanesh’s involvement.

"In accordance with Article  21 of Criminal Law, the arrest was made as the suspect was alleged to commit a criminal act that meets both objective and subjective reasons," Febri explained.

Bimanesh arrived at KPK building at 9:20 a.m. on Friday and at 8 p.m. KPK hasn’t finished the investigation against him.

The doctor is one of the suspects char with obstruction of justice in Setya Novanto’s case. Bimanesh Sutarjo is an internist who was in charge of Setya Novanto after having a car accident around Permata Hijau area.
