TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The incident involving activist Ratna Surampaet`s car being towed by authorities has entered a new chapter. Just three hours after her car was impounded, it was returned to her by a staff working for Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
The Governor himself said that he will personally summon his staff member who returned Ratna Surampaet’s car without going through the proper procedure. Anies said that he will punish his employee if proven guilty of handing out the order.

“Don’t work in fear, both myself and Sandiaga Uno will act accordingly to the standard operating procedure,” said Anies Baswedan on Wednesday, April 4.
Furthermore, Anies Baswedan asserted that his entire staff and regional working units must be submissive to an SOP in conducting legal acts and that it would be considered a violation if they do not act according to the law. “There’s a procedure to complain,” said the Governor.
Ratna Surampaet’s car was towed by members of the Jakarta Transportation Agency. Lately, her car was released from the impound after she contacted one of the governor’s staff members.
“I called Anies Baswedan but he did not pick up the phone. I called the governor’s staff and the staff promised to return it to me tomorrow,” said Ratna Surampaet.
