TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Regarding the towed car by the Jakarta Transportation Division, Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno said that what was done by the activist Ratna Sarumpaet indeed violated the regional regulation (Perda).
“That is violating and prohibited,” said Sandiaga in GOR Bulungan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, April 4. She violated the Jakarta Regulation No. 5/2014 on Transportation.
Sandiaga Uno explained that every vehicle should not be parked carelessly, even though there is no sign attached.
However, Ratna Sarumpaet’s car returned by the officer. Sandiaga Uno hopes the incident could be a shock therapy.
“Maybe there should be a shock therapy so public know that it is prohibited,” said Sandiaga Uno.
On the viral video, it showed the Jakarta Transportation officer towed a black MPV car with a police number of B 1237 BR on Tuesday, April 3.
Ratna Sarumpaet also went to the officer and questioned her mistake. “Where's the regulation?" She said she would contact the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
