Setya Novanto Not Yet Provide Helpful Info for e-KTP Case: KPK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) assessed that Setya Novanto has not yet provide any helpful information to bring into light the investigation on the e-KTP card procurement graft case. So far, Novanto still did not want to admit his involvement in the high profile corruption case.
"We've heard in every session of the hearing, the defendant sill conveyed his denial," KPK spokesperson, Febri Diansyah on Tuesday (Jan 30).

Therefore, KPK could not yet grant Novanto's proposal to be justice collaborator (JC). KPK has warned him that JC status could only be given for defendant who is willing to cooperate with the authority to reveal the truth in his crime case.
"If we refer to the rules on Witness and Victim Protection Law and also Letter of Supreme Court, so we should look at the terms of JC including one of them is acknowledging his actions and open possibility to nail other suspects who played major role in the corruption case," Febri explained.
However, KPK would monitor the development in the next hearing. In addition, Febri expected Novanto would open the role of other parties in the corruption case that caused Rp 2,3 trillion in state losses.

Accoding to the prosecutor, Novanto directly or indirectly intervened the budgeting and procurement of goods and services in e-ID project in 2011 until 2013. He is accused to have abuse the authority to benefit himself and enrich others and corporations. The former House of Representatives speaker was said to earned 7,3 million US dollars and received a Richard Mille watch worth of USD 135,000.
