Having Won China Open Title, Marcus / Kevin Eyeing Hong Kong Open

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After winning a title at China Open, Indonesia’s men`s doubles pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, are ready to compete at Hong Kong Open this week. They will play in the main rounds against Malaysia’s Goh V Shem/Teo Ee Yi on Wednesday local time.
Men`s doubles pairing coach Aryono Miranat believes that Marcus / Kevin are ready to play in two competitions in two consecutive weeks. “They are used to play two tournaments in a row. The most important thing is to be focused and maintain concentration. The men`s doubles pair target is to become the champion,” he said.
Aryono said that Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya played well at China Open. Their performance continued to improve from the first round up until the final. The pair beat Denmark’s Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen 21-19, 21-11 at the final.
Hong Kong Open qualifiers will be held today. Twelve Indonesian representatives will join the tournament, including Sony Dwi Kuncoro.
