Police to Investigate the Jakarta Bay Reclamation Project

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police is set to hold an initial inquiry on the Jakarta Bay reclamation project regarding its permits. Police investigators are set to reveal their investigations in the initial investigation to plan their next move.
“We are going to hold an initial investigation in the next day or two,” said Jakarta Police Special Crimes head Sr. Comr. Adi Deriyan on Wednesday, November 1.

According to Adi, investigators must have complete records in order to advance to a full-on investigation. “The people which later will be summoned are required to be present in the inquiry,” said Adi.
Police have been investigating a suspected criminal violation in the Jakarta Bay reclamation project related to its permit and management since September 14. The case came to light after Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revoked the island’s moratorium. The Jakarta Metro Police plan on utilizing the Coastal and Small Islands Management Law.
