Alleged Suspects of Novel Acid Attack Backed with Strong Alibi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police today announced that the three alleged suspects, namely M, H, and AL, of the attack against the KPK investigator Novel Baswedan are backed up by a strong alibi.
“At the time of the incident, these three individuals were not at the crime scene. It has been confirmed,” said Jakarta Metro Police Human Relations Head Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono today, May 17.
Argo says that they have confirmed the whereabouts of the alleged suspects through a deductive method by conducting a field investigation, where police questioned the alleged suspects’ family and neighbors.
Their alibis are solidified by other records such as travel manifests and CCTV video footages.
Argo denounces the notion suggesting that the police are sluggish in handling the case. He argued that field checking and verification needs time.
Argo revealed that his team is currently investigating a number of cases that were handled by Novel Baswedan in the past. As a KPK investigator, Novel often handles major cases such as his latest case which involves the massive electronic ID card or e-KTP corruption case.
