Hundreds of W. Sumatra Residents Still Isolated due to Landslide

TEMPO.CO, Padang - Hundreds of residents in Mapat Tunggul Selatan district, Pasaman regency, West Sumatra, are still isolated  one week after landslide hit their area.

"Hundreds of residents are still isolated in Pasaman," said West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno on Sunday (14/2).

Irwan also said that the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) have already sent helicopters to distributed logistics to the affected residents.

In the meantime, Head of Logistics and Emergency Division of West Sumatera BNPB R Pagar Negara said that there are around 640 residents who are still isolated in Mapak Tunggul Selatan district and they are from three villages.

"Access to the area has been cut off due to the landslide,” Pagar said.
