TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Budget Department of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ahmadi Noor Supit confirmed the budget allocation for the parliament of Rp740 billion in the 2016 State-Budget Plan. The budget can be allocated for a building construction and democracy square.
“The allocated budget is around Rp1.7 trillion or Rp2.7 trillion, I forgot. But it will be for the next few years,” Ahmadi said in the parliament building Jakarta on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Ahmadi admit that the agency budget only agreed because of the previous proposal. The budget for the building construction is a form of government attention as an executive high state institution.
Ahmadi said high state institutions that are already developed are the Audit Board Agency and the Supreme Court. “This year will probably be the parliament building,” he said.
The house of parliament has planned to arrange the parliament complex consisting seven projects. The development is estimated to spend a budget of Rp1.6 trillion, which will be developed gradually in the next few years.
Initially, the parliament proposed a budget of 600-700 billion in the 2016 State-Budget Plan for the construction of a new building, particularly for the offices of board members and democracy square.
However, towards the end of the budget discussion, the parliament suddenly proposed an increase of budget to Rp740 billion and eventually acquired the allocation.
