5.3 Magnitude Earthquake in Bali Also Felt in Several Regions

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho ensured the 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted Klungkung District, Bali Province on early Thursday, November 15 did not cause damages.
“It is safe,” Sutopo told Tempo today, November 15.
Sutopo explained there was no victim and potential tsunami following the quake at 00:23 a.m. local times.
Based on the latest data sent by Sutopo, the quake epicenter occurred in 78 kilometers southwest of Klungkung district, 86 kilometers southeast Denpasar, 96 kilometers southeast Badung, and 98 kilometers southeast Gianyar.
The tremor, Sutopo added, was felt for less than 5 seconds in Klungkung District, while in Denpasar City, it was felt for 4 seconds and in Badung District for 2 seconds as well as in Gianyar District for 5 seconds.
In West Lombok District and Mataram City, the earthquake was also felt for less than 5 seconds and 4 seconds, respectively. Meanwhile, the tremor was lightly felt for less than 3 seconds in North Lombok District.
