Police: 177,000 Joint Personnel to Secure 2018 Homecoming Flow

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Headquarters prepare thousands of posts to guard the flow of homecoming in 2018 Ketupat Operation. There are approximately 177,000 joint personnel deployed in each post.
“Of the security posts with 177,000 personnel deployed by all Regional Police throughout Indonesia, there are 3,097 handling posts, 1,112 service posts, and seven integrated posts," said Head of Information Unit of the Police's Public Relations Division, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus at his office, South Jakarta, Friday, June 8.
The integrated post, Yusri said, is a control post placed at key spots, such as Nagreg. All relevant agencies from the Police, Transportation, TNI health, and other stakeholders will be equipped with a command center. Furthermore, there will be 12 checkpoints. The average post is used for motorcycles stop.

Police coordinate with several companies for engagement. For the security, Police involve 876 terminals, 418 stations, 650 ports, 207 airports, 3,002 shopping centers, 2,697tourist attractions, and 204,713 mosques.
Police also prioritize ten Regional Police in guarding the homecoming flow, namely the police of West Java, Central Java, East Java, Banten, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, South Sumatra, Lampung, South Sulawesi and Bali.
In addition, mobile fuel sales are also set in cooperation with Pertamina to avoid traffic congestion resulted at the fuel purchase in the rest area.
"The anticipation is by the mobile selling [the fuel] in the form of jerry cans using motorcycles," Yusri said.
Yusri also assured that the authorities have coordinated with all related organization in the security and coordination of homecoming flow. The fully armed personnel is also deployed to anticipate the pickpockets, robbery, and theft, he added.
