“In April all the construction will be started as suggested by SOE Minister (Rini Soemarno) because the land acquisition to be completed in April,” said KCIC's acting director Dwi Windarto at the kick-off meeting ahead of SOE Ministry 20th anniversary at West Bandung, March 21.

The State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno stated one of the obstacles that hampered the project construction is the land acquisition issue. The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway project is initially expected to be operational in 2019.

The fast trains to be ready in 2020 will pass through nine districts/cities. However, four of them are in a delay in the National Spatial Planning (RTRW).

“We previously targeted it in 2019 because we expected the land issue will be clear in 2016. We are sorry for that problem,” said Rini.

Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Rail could go as fast as 350 km per hour which can reduce the travel time to around 45 minutes. The train will be completed with four stations namely Halim Station, Karawang Station, Walini Station and Tegalluar Station.
