"This is a pilot project that we implement in Jabodetabek (Jakarta greater area) region. If this works out well, we will implement this program to other regions," the Agriculture Ministry's Food Security Agency head Agung Hendriadi said at TTI Center, Jakarta on Friday, Dec. 22.
Agung explained that the application enables TTI to purchase 11 products from Gapoktan with prices below the average market price. The products sold in the application are medium quality goods for middle to low-income class.
Agung added that the ministry works with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) to facilitate payment system in the app. "When orders are placed in TTI, BRI can cover the payment to Gapoktan," he said. BRI will then arrange credit scheme for the transaction.
