TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia U-19 team coach Indra Sjafri did not blame goalkeeper Aqil Savik after 3-0 loss versus Vietnam in AFF U-18 Youth Championship Group B clash yesterday at Thuwunna Stadium, Myanmar. He said that the entire backline of the Garuda Nusantara did not perform well in that match.

Indonesia U-19 did concede three goals after Aqil had replaced injured first team goalkeeper Muhammad Riyadi in the 38th minute. Two minutes after the substitution, Vietnam scored through Le Van Nam off a corner.

Vietnam netted their second goal in the 45th minute after Le Van Nam headed the ball into the goal from a cross. The third goal was scored from another corner.

Indra said that Indonesia allowed three goals because of poor defense and organization. On the goalkeeper, he said that there is no significant difference between Aqil and Riyandi.

“Aqil entered the pitch without warming up,” he said. Coach Indra could not confirm the extent of Riyandi’s injury. He said that he will give an update on the situation once the first choice goalkeeper completed an examination today.

Despite the loss, Indonesia U-19 team can still go through to the semifinals. They have to win against Brunei while hoping that host Myanmar fails to beat Vietnam.
