TEMPO.CO, Kuala Lumpur - Thailand’s U-22 team head coach Worrawoot Srimaka will constantly keep an eye on Indonesia’s quick counterattack in the opening match of SEA Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur today.
Worrawoot reminded his team to strengthen their defense to block any counter-attack led by Indonesian striker Ezra Walian. He has also trained his team to focus on attacking Indonesia’s row of defense, and at the same time preparing his team on its defense during yesterday's training session.
The Thai team has meticulously studied each and every team in Group B. Worrawoot said that the first game in any tournament is always difficult and that; “We must get a point from this game. Every team in the SEA Games will be thinking on the same lines,” as quoted from Bangkokpost.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s midfielder Evan Dimas said that the team has prepared to anticipate Thai’s offense. Evan admits that Thailand consists of good players, especially Chenrop Samphaodi who participated in the recent U-23 Asian Cup Qualification and managed to disrupt Indonesia’s defense.
The Indonesian U-22 team will receive support from fans that are joined in the Indonesian Supporters Alliance that has prepared a 20x30 meter Indonesian national flag to be displayed at the 2017 SEA Games opener which will witness Indonesia facing off Thailand at Shah Alam Stadium.
