February`s Inflation Caused by Electricity Price, Chili Price

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Based on the result of a survey done by central bank Bank Indonesia (BI) in mid February, it was known that impacts of the rising electricity rate and chilly are still felt and inflation is estimated at 0.35%.

In the meantime, deflation happened to volatile foods such as chicken, egg, and red onion.

"We understand the new electricity price has contributed to inflation but we hope the inflation rate can still be under control,” said BI Governor Agus Martowardojo on Friday (10/2).

Previously, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution said the government is still looking the contribution of administered prices to inflation.
