TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An accident occurred on the I-10 highway connecting Mississippi and Lousiana, The accident involves five Indonesian, three if which died while the other two suffer from injuries.
Henk Soriansong, Indonesian Consulate General in Houston said that the five Indonesians were travelling in the same vehicle. "After receiving news [about the accident], a protection team from the Consulate General in Houston immediately rushed to [the accident’s] location in Saint Bay Louis, Mississippi; and New Orleans, Lousiana," Henk said in a written statement received by Tempo on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Bodies of two Indonesians died in the accident are currently stored in Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Saint Louis, Mississippi. Meanwhile, another body is stored at the New Orleans Coroner Office.
Two of the injured Indonesians, according to Henk, is being treated in two different hospital, one is being treated at the Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi, while the other victim is being treated at the University Medical Center, New Orleans.
Henk said that the Consulate General continues to coordinate with local authorities and the victims' families. Henk added that the consulate general will continue to provide assistance for the victims and their families.
