TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 60th Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) has officially kicked start at Banten’s Governor Hall in Serang, Banten just recently. Carrying the theme of ‘Tribute to Teguh Karya’, the 2015 FFI was opened by signing of cooperation agreement between Banten Governor and the Education and Culture Ministry.
Teguh Karya was a renowned film director and a founder of Teater Populer. He was born on September 22, 1937 in Pandeglang, Banten.
“It’s too bad that not many people in Pandeglang know that Teguh Karya was the best Pandeglang’s son. We hope that Teguh Karya will inspire the younger generations to know and love Indonesian films more,” said Olga Lydia, 2015 FFI Chairman during a press conference at the location.
“I hope that this tribute will become tradition for FFI in the upcoming years.”
Series of 2015 FFI will continue to be held in Banten Province. On November 13 to 15, for example, an exhibition and actress parade will be held in Serang. The awarding night of Citra Cup will be held at the Indonesia Convention Center, BSD City, Tangerang on November 23.
