TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat expected the Jakarta Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) to evaluate Kopaja and Metromini minibuses. This is because most of them are in poor condition.
According to Djarot, the damaged minibus caused decline in passenger number. No wonder, many people switch to other public transports.
“I told the private sector to repair their fleets. Concerning competition becomes more intense and difficult to be stopped ,” he expressed, Wednesday (10/7).
On the other occasion, Jakarta Organda Head, Safruhan Sinulungan admitted the decline in passenger number is indeed happened in almost public transports. In details, bajaj has declined 40 percent, taxi and bus 30 percent.
"It's not correctable or not. But people are more comfortable using online ojek (motorcycle taxi), it is deemed more efficient and effective,” he finished.
