TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian men’s-double shuttler Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan defeated top seed and world no.1 Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong of South Korea in the semi on Saturday 21-17 21-19, booking a final clash with China’s Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan.
“We were playing without burden,” said Ahsan.
Statistic shows equal records of 2-2 in Hendra/Ahsan and Liu/Qiu past encounters.
“We are ready to play all out,” Hendra commented about the final match.
The Indonesian men’s-double become the only hope for the host country as Lindaweni Fanetri (women’s single) and Liliyana Natsir/Tontowi Ahmaf (mixed-double) both were defeated by top seeds in the semi-final.
