TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI Indonesia) is projecting high sales for this year. HKI Indonesia chairman Sanny Iskandar is optimistic that industrial estate sales reach 500 hectares by year-end.
"In the first, half of the targets is already met, which is 250 hectares," he told Tempo.
In 2012, industrial estate sales reached 650 hectares in size. In 2013 and 2014, the sales volume was 450 hectares each year.
According to Sanny, most of the estates sold are located in in Java, especially in areas around Jakarta, "such as the Cikande Modern Industrial Estate, Cikarang, and Karawang."
In addition to said locations, most of the estates sold are located in Central Java and East Java, as industries want to stay within a proximate distance to the market. Meanwhile, industries in East Java mostly produce goods to be marketed in the eastern parts of Indonesia.
Over the past few years, sectors that make the most industrial land purchases are dominated by the chemical industry, food and beverage, and automotive components.
