TEMPO.CO, Bondowoso - Mount Raung rumbled and erupted volcanic materials on Tuesday July 21. The eruption was marked with dark ashes on top of the volcano.
"[We] can see fire erupting on Raung’s crater. We can see it from Sumberwringin," said Sri, a resident of Sumberwringin district. "We can also feel the ashes here; the rumbles as well."
Head of Regional Disaster Management (BPBD) of Bondowoso, Moch Cholili, confirmed the eruption. "Indeed there was an increase in tremor," said Cholili. He also said that ashes and volcanic materials were in the sky, despite having lesser density than the previous ones.
Temperature in Mount Raung yends to be normal at 27 degree of Celcius. Tremors are also constant, showing no cease at all. Therefore, Raung volcanic status remains at Alert level.
