TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - At least 110 teachers with civil servant status in Bekasi will retire in 2015, raising demands for teachers in the city.
“Most of them are primary school teachers,” Bekasi Education Agency secretary Dedi Junaedi said on Sunday, June 28, 2015.
Dedi explained that currently there are 6,910 civil servant teachers in Bekasi, consisting 60 percent of primary school teachers, and 40 percent of junior high school and vocational school teachers. Meanwhile, the number of contract teachers reached 2,500 people.
According to Dedi, the city is currently in need of recruiting 1,000 civil servant teachers for primary schools. In addition, the city needs to 300 junior high school teachers and another 650 for high schools and vocational schools.
Bekasi Education Agency head Rudi Sabarudin said he was still waiting for the National Employment Agency (BKN) to open civil servant recruitment.
