TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manchester City equals Chelsea at the top of qualification of Premier League as they thrashed its visitor Crystal Palace 3-0 at Etihad Stadium, Saturday, December 20. Two goals were attributed to David Silva and one other goal scored by Yaya Toure.
Both City and Chelsea bag 39 points but The Blues had played more matches than The Citizen. If Chelsea wins over Stoke City in the next encounter, The Blues will move further away from the Citizens.
Despite the absence of senior strikers, City’s six midfielders managed to tore down Palace’s defense. Palace offered tough resistance in the early minutes as position remained zero for both until the first half.
City began the second with two goals by David Silva who struck after 49 and 61 minutes with two left-foot shots, the first taking a deflection off Palace defender Scott Dann. Yaya Toure sunk Cuty’s third with 10 minutes remaining.
