TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Marvel Universe scored another success in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', directed by Anthony Russo. The director, in a recent interview with Comicvine, revealed that the fluid fights between the two characters, Captain America and Bucky the Winter Soldier, were inspired by the Indonesian movie 'The Raid'.
"We loved the sort of visceral intensity of the bank robbery in 'Heat'. We loved The Raid, it was a big influence on us. We love that kinetic fighting style," said Russo. "They would stage choreographed fights and then shoot it and show it to us. They would go back and re-work it according to that. It was something that evolved over many many months. It was a very fun process in trying to get every single sequence right, making sure every sequence was unique."
The Raid, in its sequel The Raid: Berandal, opened in theater almost the same time as Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Winter Soldier now sits atop Hollywood's box office with Rp1,08 trillion. The Raid: Berandal, on the other hand, has also booked some great reviews due the iconic Iko Uwais' battle scenes.
