TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Total E&P spokesman Kristanto Hartadi said that his company has not received any announcement concerning Indika Energy's interest in taking part in the management of the Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan. Kristanto said that the statement of interest must be conveyed to the government as the authority.
"The management authority is the government," said Kristanto, contacted on Monday, July 22.
Kristanto explained that Total is preparing a transition process for the management of the Mahakam Block—the block will be managed by the government. Therefore, Kristanto said, any interested party should contact the government regarding the matter.
He made the remark following a statement by the Indika Energy Group CEO who said that the company is interested in managing the gas block. In addition to Indika, state oil and gas company Pertamina also has its eyes on the block.
