TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ramon Mohandas, the Head of Curriculum and Textbook Center of the Education and Culture Ministry, said that the 2013 primary school textbook must be re-printed annually because the curriculum will be based on students activity, where "students must finish every tasks using the book."

He said that the textbooks will also include worksheets, therefore it could not be passed over to other students. For an example, Ramon explained that there are some coloring activities in the text book. Ramon also denied that the annual printing process is a waste of budget.

Currently, there are 10 textbooks for first graders, including eight thematic books and a set of religious books.
