South Tangerang City Gov't to Pay Compensation on Land Dispute

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Disctrict Court of Tangerang ordered City Government of South Tangerang to pay the compensation to Juadin bin Entong, the heir of a piece of land where the Public Primary School Ciledug Barat is built.
"Based on the verdict No. 451/Pdt.G/2013/PN.Tng dated May 7, 2013, the court determined the Head of the City, Airin Rachmi Dian must pay compensation to the claimant," said I Made Supartha, District Court Tangerang spokesperson, Friday, May 31.
To the heir family, this verdict was their final answer of the 32-year land dispute. "My client has been waiting for 32 years for the final conclusion on the ownership of their land, finally made clear by the court," said the legal representative, Sonny Idris from Law Firm Sonny Idris SH & Associates to TEMPO.
Based on the verdict, the City Government has to pay a compensation over 1,500 meter square land according to the land value in 2013, i.e., Rp 922,068 thousand per meter. In other word, the total compensation would be Rp. 1,383 billion. "We hope the government would accept the verdict with a big heart," Sonny said.
