TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Marine and Fisheries Ministry said it will prepare solar packed dealer units for fishermen (SPDN) or mobile diesel fuel refueling stations across Indonesia's centers of fisheries. The plan complied with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's directives for the Marine and Fisheries Ministry to supply diesel fuel for fishermen cooperation with the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and state oil company Pertamina.

"Diesel fuel is essential for fishermen considering 60 percent of their production costs went to fuel," said Marine and Fisheries Minister Sharif Cicip Sutardjo in a press release about his official visit to Lampung on Saturday, May 25.

Sharif added that diesel fuel provisions were conducted because some regions were unable to meet the demands for subsidized fuel for fishermen. "Especially during fishing season, when the demands for fuel increases," said the minister.
