BI to Announce Next Week Results of BCA Bidders’ Fit-and-proper Test

23 July 2003 14:45 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Bank Indonesia (BI) will announce the results of fit-and-proper test on Bank Central Asia (BCA) bidders next week, BI Governor Syahril Sabirin told journalists today (15/2), following Friday prayers. Syahril said a bidder would not be disqualified if its documents were still incomplete by next week, as long as the main ones were submitted. There are four BCA bidders undergoing the fit-and-proper test, including the United States’ Farallon Capital, the Standard Chartered Consortium, Bank Mega Consortium and the Indonesian Batik Cooperatives Association (GKBI). Syahril said he had not heard the two bidders whose documents were returned. He also had not heard of a bidder whose documents did not meet BI’s requirements. “At least, this has not been revealed yet,” he said. (Dicky Subhan-Tempo News Room)
