Top 15 Most Expensive Cities for Dining in Europe

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Europe's culinary diversity attracts travelers from around the world. However, dining costs can vary significantly across different European cities. For instance, a plate of tapas in London might cost the same as two dishes in Spain.

A study conducted by FerryGoGo revealed the most expensive cities in Europe for eating out, as reported by TimeOut. Zurich and Geneva, previously named the most expensive cities in 2024, claimed the top spots. In these cities, three menus for two people average 123.62 euros or approximately Rp2.1 million. Milan, Italy, occupied the 15th position with a meal price of around 80 euros or Rp1.38 million.

Zurich is renowned for its delectable cuisine, including Fondue, a creamy cheese dish with various flavors and aromas. Cordon Bleu, a meat dish filled with ham and cheese, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried, is another popular choice. Rosti, a crispy potato pancake with an appetizing golden hue, is also a local favorite.

Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and Espoo, Finland, followed Zurich and Geneva on the list, with meal prices of around 114 euros or around Rp1.97 million and 110 euros or around Rp1.9 million, respectively. Copenhagen ranked fourth with an average of 107.25 euros or around Rp1.86 million.

The top five cities on this list all have an average meal price of at least 100 euros or approximately Rp1.73 million. The remaining cities in the top 15 range from 94.61 euros (Rp1.6 million) to 80 euros (Rp1.38 million).
