TEMPO.CO, JakartaGreen Day, the legendary punk rock group from California, will return to hold a concert in Jakarta after 28 years.

For those who haven't heard of this awesome punk rock band, Green Day is already a household name in the Indonesian music scene. The band was formed in Rodeo, California in 1987. Previously, the trio consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), and Tré Cool (drums) had held a concert in Indonesia in 1996 at the Jakarta Convention Center.

The concert, which will be held on February 15, 2025 at Carnaval Ancol, is part of a series of events to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hammersonic. In the concert, Green Day will present a special setlist commemorating the 30th anniversary of the album Dookie and the 20th anniversary of American Idiot, two iconic albums that have solidified their position in the world of punk rock music.

For long-time fans who can't wait to see Green Day's live performance, the tickets for the Green Day Live in Jakarta concert will go on sale on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Tickets can only be purchased through the official website www.greendayjkt.com.

Target 40,000 Spectators

According to Ravel Junardi, Founder and CEO of Ravel Entertainment as the promoter of the event, this concert is targeted to attract 40,000 spectators.

"The capacity of Carnaval (Ancol) can reach 70,000 spectators, but we don't open it all. We open half the capacity, we hope to be able to fulfill around 30,000 to 40,000," said Ravel in a press conference in Jakarta on August 15, 2024.

Ravel also explained that bringing Green Day to Indonesia was not easy. "It was actually quite difficult to invite them. The process took quite a long time, I even had to come to LA, i was invited there," he said.

This concert is sure to be an unforgettable experience for fans. Ravel Entertainment promises the best stage and audio production.

"We definitely want the best. What's more, this is Green Day playing, we won't use ordinary stage and audio sets, of course we will use the best ones," said Ravel.

In addition, the promoter will also provide many video walls for the audience who are far from the stage, as well as a typical Green Day stage set equipped with many amplifiers, which of course will add to the enthusiasm of the audience.
