KAI Offers 21% Ticket Discount for Independence Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is celebrating Indonesia's Independence Day with a special ticket promotion. The "Panjat Pinang" promo offers a 21% discount on ticket prices from August 16 to 18, 2024.

Anne Purba, PT KAI VP of Public Relations, announced that the promotion is valid for 30 train trips across various classes and destinations. In addition to the discount, KAI is also offering a 50% discount for a limited number of tickets.

“KAI is providing a total of 32,984 promo tickets,” Anne said during a media gathering for the LRT Jabodebek in Semarang on Friday, August 9, 2024.

She explained that in the "Panjat Pinang Promo: Only Pay 79%", KAI offers 27,064 tickets for purchases from August 16 to 18, 2024, through all ticket sales channels except ticket counters and box counters.

For the 50% discount, KAI is offering 5,920 tickets available for purchase on August 13, 2024, from 12:00 to 13:00 Jakarta time through the Access by KAI application during the @KAI121_ Instagram Live.

“There are 5,920 tickets in this Flash Sale Promo,” Anne remarked.

She added that both promotions are valid for train departures from August 17 to 31, 2024. The discounts apply to various routes, including Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, Surabaya, Solo, Palembang, and Medan. “Other cities also offer discounted fares.”
