The highlight of Emily's musical journey was when she founded Dead Sara in 2005. Together with Dead Sara, Emily and her colleagues managed to create energetic and passionate rock music. Despite only releasing their debut album in 2012, Dead Sara quickly gained recognition in the alternative rock music scene.
The three studio albums are Dead Sara (2012), Pleasure to Meet You (2015), and Ain't It Tragic (2021). The three EPs that Emily released with Dead Sara are The Airport Sessions (2008), The Covers (2017), and Temporary Things Taking Up Space (2018).
Reporting from Loudwire, during their work in the music industry, Dead Sara has performed a number of cover songs from well-known bands. But the band has never covered a Linkin Park song.
According to Setlist.fm, they most often perform at Rage Against the Machine and perform a number of classic songs. Starting from Killing in the Name, Freedom, and Sleep Now in the Fire as well as classic songs from Led Zeppelin, Stevie Nicks, Nirvana and The White Stripes.
As for before forming Dead Sara, Emily had sung backing vocals on Courtney Love's Nobody's Daughter solo album. In 2002, Emily and her Dead Sara colleagues received songwriting credits for “Bones” and “Help Me” on Demi Lovato's Holy Fvck album and joined Lovato on the latter song.
