TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong (STY) officially announced the extension of his contract with Indonesia, which is rumored to last until 2027.
"We agreed to continue to fight together so that the Indonesian National Team is more advanced, performing, and worldwide," Shin Tae-yong wrote on his official social media site.
Previously, Shin Tae-yong, who replaced Simon McMenemy as Garuda squad tactician on December 28, 2019, was given a long-term contract for four years.

1. Runner-up of the 2020 AFF Cup
One of the achievements that Shin Tae-yong achieved with the Indonesian national team was becoming the runner-up in the 2020 AFF Cup. At that time, STY refreshed the Indonesian national team by including young players, with an average age of 23.8 years. There were doubts, STY proved his decision was right by bringing the young team to become runners-up in the 2020 AFF Cup.
