TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Hajj pilgrims will be accommodated in 1,169 tents spread in 73 maktab or markaz during the Wuquf performance in Arafat. These officers in Arafat will welcome and guide the pilgrims to occupy the tent set based on the embarkation and the group.
"Each tent has been labeled with stickers of the origin of the pilgrims with colors and identities that are easy to be identified and remembered by the pilgrims," said the member of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Media Center Widi Dwinanda, in a written statement on Saturday, June 15.
Widi said all Indonesian pilgrims left for Arafah on Friday, June 14, or Zulhijjah 8, 1445 Hijri, starting at 6 a.m. local time. Gradually, the pilgrims were mobilized from their hotels to Arafah with the buses that had been prepared.
The Saudi Arabian government announced that the first day of Zulhijjah 1445 H was on June 7, 2024. Therefore, the wuquf performance in Arafat would be on June 15, or Zulhijjah 9, 1445 H.
Widi said that the Wuquf Safari of 300 non-independent elderly and disabled elderly Hajj pilgrims will depart from the transit hotel to Arafat on June 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Saudi Arabia time.
"The Wuquf Safari congregation will be accompanied by several officials from the Crisis Management and First Aid for Hajj Pilgrims (PKP3JH), worship guides, and elderly and disabled service officers," Widi said.
Meanwhile, for the Wuquf Safari, pilgrims who are sick and being treated at the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI) will leave for Arafat on 9 Zulhijjah at around 10:00 local time and will be accompanied by officers.
Widi reminded pilgrims to have their smart cards ready, as officials will scan them before boarding the bus. She said only those who have smart cards issued by the Saudi government will be allowed to enter the Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina areas.
"Therefore, please ensure that the smart card and other personal identification are securely stored in a bag that is easily accessible for inspection and scanning," Widi said.
Before leaving, Widi reminded pilgrims to check their belongings that needed to be brought to and used in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina. They include clothes for three days, spare ihram cloth for men, towels, toiletries, and other personal items, including medicines and vitamins, as well as self-protection items such as umbrellas, masks, and water spray.
Upon arrival in Arafat, PPIH (the Hajj organizing committee) appealed to the congregation to be orderly when getting off the bus and entering the tent, to place their luggage in an orderly manner, and not to fight for space in the tent. "Don't force yourself to go to Jabal Rahmah or force your wuquf outside the tent because there is a possibility of dehydration and fatigue," Widi said.
To date, 112 Indonesian pilgrims have died; 9 at embarkation, 18 in Medina, 82 in Makkah, and 3 at the airport.
