Ragunan Zoo Visited By More than 67,000 Visitors on the Second Day of Lebaran

12 April 2024 19:44 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaVisitors flooded Ragunan Wildlife Park or Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta on the second day of Lebaran or Eid al-Fitr 2024.

"For today, the enthusiasm of visitors is very dense, as seen from the data entered at 11:00 WIB: there are more than 27 thousand visitors, and this figure changes very quickly, and we monitor changes in numbers," said Head of Public Relations of Ragunan Wildlife Park Wahyudi Bambang in Ragunan, Jakarta, as quoted from Antara on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Wahyudi explained that his party is targeting 800,000 visitors during the Eid holiday period. To accommodate the surge in visitors, the Ragunan Zoo has made special preparations, including adding parking areas.

"We have prepared several additional parking areas. As usual, we added an inside parking area that can accommodate approximately 5,000 cars. Then, for two-wheeled vehicles, the maximum can accommodate 14,500 motorbikes," Wahyudi said.

In addition to security preparations, coordination has also been carried out with the police and other related officials to ensure the safety of tourists.

Until 17:00 WIB, the visitor record reached 69,979 on the second day of Eid. The Ragunan Wildlife Park is ready to welcome visitors during the Lebaran period, April 11-21, starting at 07:00 WIB, with an affordable ticket price of IDR 3,000 for children (not including vehicle parking fees).

Ragunan Wildlife Park Profile

Ragunan Wildlife Park was established on September 19, 1964, in Batavia (now Jakarta) under the name "Planten en Dierentuin" and was first managed by the Batavia Flora and Fauna Society (Culture Vereniging Planten en Dierentuin at Batavia).

Ragunan stands on 147 hectares of land, which is rich in biodiversity. This mini tropical forest has more than 2,009 animals and is overgrown with more than 20,000 trees, making this area cool and comfortable.

Located about 20 kilometers from the center of Jakarta at an altitude of 50 m above sea level, Ragunan has always been a favorite tourist location for people to enjoy the holidays. With a beautiful atmosphere and a complete ecological system, it can be a source of knowledge related to the preservation of wildlife, so this park becomes an educational tourism option that is favored by the community.
