TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A landslide occurred on the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi or Bocimi toll road section on Wednesday night, April 3, reportedly due to heavy rains. The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said it had made efforts to carry out temporary repairs. Meanwhile, more permanent repairs will begin after the Eid holidays.
"Based on discussions with the Director General of Highways last night, efforts are currently being made on the ground for temporary repairs," said Tulus Abadi, member of the Community Element of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) on Thursday, April 4.
Tulus said the temporary repairs are expected to be completed by Monday, April 8, in order to serve the traffic flow on the Bocimi Toll Road. Meanwhile, permanent repairs to the collapsed toll road will be carried out after the Eid holiday.
"Permanent treatment will be carried out after the Eid holiday," he said.
The collapsed road was located at KM 64 towards Sukabumi, which affected the main lane 1 of the Bocimi Toll Road. As a result, vehicles coming from Ciawi to Parungkuda are being diverted to Cigombong Gate.
Vehicles going from Parungkuda to Ciawi are currently still closed. "Currently, Section 2 is completely closed to road users as a safety measure," he said.
Tulus also said that since last night, Toll Road Management had sterilized and secured the area where the toll road section collapsed.
Due to Massive Rain
Yanka, the PR officer of PT Waskita Toll Road, said the landslide on the Bocimi Toll Road was believed to have been caused by water scouring due to heavy rainfall in the area. "Currently, the management of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT Waskita Toll Road are conducting a site inspection to check the mitigation efforts and the overall condition of the Bocimi Toll Road section," Yanka said.
Meanwhile, Sukabumi police traffic division chief Adj. Comr. Fiekry Perdana, said the vehicle fell into a ravine when the road collapsed. "So far, there are no reports of fatalities," Fiekry said on Wednesday, April 3.
