Ganjar Pranowo, Mahfud MD Attend Election Dispute Hearing at MK, Pleads on Democracy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential and vice-presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md were present to attend the preliminary examination of the election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK). Ganjar and Mahfud arrived at around 12:10 p.m. local time.
The running pair was present with the Legal Deputy of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) Todung Mulya Lubis and the Vice Legal Deputy of TPN Henry Yosodiningrat. Ganjar said he would plead about democracy and establishing the constitution before the court.
"I will plead for my hope towards the democratic process and democratization, and how this country was established with the dream of all to obey the constitution," he said.
The Constitutional Court scheduled the preliminary examination for Ganjar-Mahfud’s application, numbered 2/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024 to be held at 01:00 p.m.
The court will hear two cases regarding the presidential election results. Other than Ganjar-Mahfud’s application, MK will hear the case submitted by Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, numbered 1/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024 which was held at 08.00 a.m. this morning.
The Court scheduled the next hearing for Thursday, March 28, 2024. Anies and Ganjar's hearings will be combined into one. The agenda is to conduct an examination and submission of the respondent's answer, as well as hearing related parties’ testimony, and witnesses.
Furthermore, the trial examination stage will be held on April 1-18, 2024 and the decision hearing will be held on April 22, 2023.
