TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast that rain will fall on almost all areas in Jakarta this morning, Friday, March 22, 2024. The capital's weather is likely to be cloudy from afternoon to evening.

Referring to weather forecast data by BMKG, South Jakarta will be the only cloudy part of Jakarta this morning, with the rest raining lightly.

The rain will potentially subside this afternoon, with West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta staying cloudy. According to BMKG, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Seribu Islands will be sunny this afternoon.

As for Friday evening, the weather throughout Jakarta is expected to be cloudy. The air temperature in Jakarta will range from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is estimated to reach 70 to 95 percent.

In the three-day weather prediction, from March 21-23, 2024, Tropical Cyclone Neville was observed in the Indian Ocean, south of Central Java, with a maximum wind speed of 65 knots and air pressure of 990 hectopascals (hPa). The cyclone moves westward.

A low-pressure center was also observed over northern Australia. This system induces an area of increased wind speeds of more than 25 knots (low-level jet) over northern Australia.

Areas of convergence are observed to extend from Aceh to North Sumatra, South Sumatra to Lampung, Central Kalimantan to South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan to the Makassar Strait. It will also potentially cover South Sulawesi to Southeast Sulawesi, the Java Sea to the Flores Sea, and then from West Papua to Papua. The confluence area extends along the north coast of Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and the Arafuru Sea.
