Police to Implement Odd-Even Traffic Policy During 2024 Eid Homecoming Flow

19 March 2024 11:30 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe National Police will enforce the odd-even traffic policy during the homecoming and return flows of 2024 Eid travelers from April 5 to April 16, 2024. This policy will be monitored by ETLE (Electronic traffic law enforcement) cameras.

"Odd-even policy violators are monitored by ETLE, both static and mobile. Those who violate this rule will not be asked to make a U-turn but will be ticketed directly through ETLE," said Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko on Monday as reported by Antara.

The implementation of traffic diversion during the Eid homecoming and return flows has been stated in a Joint Decree (SKB). The following is the odd-even schedule:

- April 5 to 7, 2024 at 00:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time) from KM 0 of the Jakarta inner-city toll road to KM 414 of the Semarang-Batang toll road.

- April 8, 2024 from 08:00 a.m. WIB to 00:00 WIB from KM 0 of the Jakarta inner-city toll road to KM 414 Semarang-Batang toll road.

- April 9 from 00:00 a.m. WIB to 00:00 a.m. WIB, from KM 0 of the toll road section in the city of Jakarta to KM 414 of the Semarang-Batang toll road.

Meanwhile, for the homecoming return flow, the odd-even traffic policy will begin on:

- April 12 at 02:00 p.m. WIB until 00:00 a.m. WIB from KM 414 Semarang-Batang toll road section to KM 0 toll road section in Jakarta.

- April 13 at 08:00 a.m. WIB from KM 414 of the Semarang-Batang toll road section to KM 0 of the toll road section in the city of Jakarta.

- April 14 to April 16 will also apply an odd-even traffic policy from 08:00 a.m. WIB.

In addition to imposing tickets, police have prepared a formula to anticipate extreme weather that will potentially disrupt the flow of vehicles on the crossing route between islands.

"The police will prepare a buffer zone to unravel congestion where vehicles will be diverted to arterial roads to reduce the traffic on toll roads," he said.

The former Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police added that in securing the homecoming and return of Lebaran 2024, the Police held a safety operation codenamed Operation Ketupat 2024 which began on April 4 to April 16.
