KPU Recapitulation Update: Anies-Muhaimin Leads in West Sumatra

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka (Prabowo-Gibran) pair lost to Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Anies-Muhaimin) in West Sumatra Province during the sixth day of the national vote recapitulation plenary meeting at the General Elections Commission (KPU) Office, Central Jakarta on Thursday, March 14.
West Sumatra is one of five provinces that is being recapitulated today, among Bengkulu, NTB, North Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi. The Anies-Muhaimin pair garnered 1,744,042 votes out of 3,128,346 total voters in West Sumatra. Meanwhile, Prabowo-Gibran took second place with 1,217,314 votes. Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md (Ganjar Mahfud) only gained 124,044 votes in the province.
But in three other provinces, Prabowo-Gibran led the race. In South Sulawesi, pair number 02 won with 3,010,726 votes out of 5,279,755 valid votes. Anies-Muhaimin received 2,003,081 votes and Ganjar-Mahfud only received 265,948 votes.
Prabowo-Gibran also won by a landslide in North Sulawesi. The pair garnered 1,229,069 votes out of 1,631,968 total votes. This figure far exceeds the other two pairs. Anies-Muhaimin, for example, only received 119,103 votes while Ganjar-Mahfud received 283,796 votes.
In Bengkulu, the pair backed by the Onward Indonesia Coalition won 893,499 votes, followed by Anies-Muhaimin with 229,681 votes. Ganjar-Mahfud took the last place with 145,570 votes.
