TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pancasila University Chancellor Edie Toet Hendratmo spent two hours at the Jakarta police station on Thursday, February 29. He was there to give his statements in connection with the investigation of sexual harassment he is accused of.
Sr. Comr. Ade Ary Syam Indradi, head of public relations at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, said that criminal investigators will summon Edie again on Tuesday, March 5.
Edie Toet Hendratmo, 72, is accused of sexually harassing two of his employees, RZ and DD.
"The accused came to the Jakarta Metro Police's Sub-Directorate for Youth, Children and Women of the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation (Subdit Renakta Ditreskrimum) based on a report from RZ. For the report of the other complainant, DD, we will schedule taking his statement at a later date," Ade Ary said on Thursday.
Ade Ary said the two reports were being handled separately because they were filed with different departments, one with the National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) and the other with the Jakarta Metro Police.
Asked by reporters upon his arrival at the Jakarta Metro Police this afternoon, Edie Toet Hendratno denied the allegations of sexual harassment against his employees.
