Prabowo-Gibran Team Confirms Jokowi's Roles in Future Government

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto on Tuesday ensured that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will have a role in Prabowo Subianto’s government.
Airlangga did not comment further on what kind of roles Jokowi have in the future administration. “Of course, [Jokowi] will have a role. We’ll just wait for the announcement by the General Elections Commission [for election results],” he said.
Tempo Magazine has reported on Jokowi’s intervention regarding Prabowo’s ministerial formation. Four high-ranking officials in the Prabowo-Gibran winning team said that the presidential candidate had asked for Jokowi’s recommendation. The current president called on four names for Prabowo to pick.
Jokowi’s involvement also has been revealed by the expert council of Prabowo-Gibran winning team Drajad Wibowo. He said that Jokowi will be involved in Prabowo-Gibran’s cabinet formation.
“Jokowi’s involvement will be quite significant,” Drajad said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the State Secretariat Minister Pratikno and Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana did not respond to Tempo’s inquiry about Jokowi’s role in future government.
