TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bina Nusantara or Binus School in Serpong is still in hot water over the viral case of bullying of one of its high school students. The school is now faced with reports that a student of its kindergarten ECY Binus School Serpong has also been bullied.
Rena Mulyana is the grandfather of the student. He came to the South Tangerang Police to report alleged bullying of his grandchild, whom he said was deeply traumatized. Rena said that his family decided to file a report because the ECY Binus School Serpong had not taken the matter seriously.
"We filed this report as a last resort because we have told the teachers numerous times. But they are not taking our mediation efforts seriously," Rena said at the South Tangerang Police Headquarters, Feb. 22.
Rena is upset by the lack of response from the school to which his family paid a lot of money to enroll his grandchild. He said that the child is deeply traumatized and has to see a specialist.
"My grandchild keeps getting hit, requiring monthly check-ups. The doctor said he was traumatized and there are bones that need to be checked regularly," he said, saying that some of the blow wounds were also considered serious.
The South Tangerang Police's spokesperson Adj. Comr. Pol. Wendi Afrianto said that he didn't know about reports of alleged bullying at Binus Kindergarten. "I have not received that information," he said.
