Education Ministry Responds to Bullying Case at Binus School Serpong

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Education responded to the bullying case at Bina Nusantara or Binus School in Serpong.
"The education ministry, through the Inspectorate General Team, has communicated with the school and followed up the case," said the acting chief of Biro Kerja Sama dan Humas Kemendikbudristek Anang Ristanto in his official statement on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Anang guaranteed that the victim would be provided with a maximum recovery process following the bullying. He ensured that the handling was carried out per the investigation mechanism and the perpetrators would be subject to sanctions according to applicable regulations.
"The Education Ministry via Banten Province BPMP (Education Quality Assurance Center) also continues the coordination with the school and regional government to monitor the development of the case," he said.
Anang said that the ministry attempts to push for prevention and mitigation of bullying cases together with regional government and local government agencies, as a commitment to create a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, inclusive, fun, and free from all violence.
Anang said that prevention and mitigation of school bullying cases is regulated in Education Ministry Regulation Number 46/2023 issued on August 8, 2023, as part of the Free Learning program episode 25.
