Jakarta Police Deploy 3,256 Personnel to Secure Prabowo-Gibran Grand Campaign at GBK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police deployed 3,256 joint personnel to secure the grand campaign of presidential and vice presidential candidate number two for 2024 elections, Prabowo-Gibran, at the main stadium of Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Police Chief Sr.Comsr. Susatyo Purnomo Condro said that the joint personnel comprises members of Jakarta Metro Police, Central Jakarta Police, the military or TNI, the Jakarta Government, and related institutions. 

"The officers will be placed in several points," he said in an official statement on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The locations include GBK Stadium, Ring Road area, outside GBK entrances, and parking areas. "We also anticipate if there’s friction among the supporters when they meet on the road," he said.

To reduce traffic jams and density near the GBK area, traffic diversion would be conducted depending on the situation. The police implemented limited Car Free Day (CFD) and traffic engineering in the GBK area from 14:00 to 20:00 for campaign participants. 

"We call on the people to avoid streets near the GBK area and look for alternative routes," he remarked.
