Week 22 English Premier League: Liverpool vs Chelsea 4-1, Man City and Tottenham Win

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur all won matches in the English Premier League on Thursday, February 1, 2024. 

Liverpool's lead at the home match 4-1 over Chelsea in Anfield brought them even more victorious at the top of the standings.

Liverpool's goals were scored by Diogo Jota (23rd minute), Conor Bradley (39th), Dominik Szobozlai (65th), and Luis Diaz (79th). The victory could have been achieved with a bigger score if Darwin Nunez failed to score from the penalty spot (54+2).

Chelsea performed weaker throughout the match, with only one goal by Christopher Nkunku (71).

Liverpool now tops the standings with 51 points from 22 matches. They are five points ahead of Manchester City, who are in second place and have only played 21 times. Chelsea is still trailing in 10th place with 31 points.

In another match, Manchester City won 3-1 at home to Burnley. The victory led them back to shift Arsenal from second place.

Julain Alvarez became the star of Man City's victory. The Argentine managed to score two goals (16 and 22). The Citizens' goal was scored by Rodri (46). Ameen Al Dakhil scored the Burnley goal (90+3).

Man City now has a score of 46, only one goal ahead of Arsenal in third place. Burnley is still slumped in the relegation zone, in 19th position, with a score of 12.

Meanwhile, in another match, Tottenham Hotspur won 3-2 at home to Brentford. They are now in fourth place in the standings with 43 points. Brentford is in 15th place with 22 points.
