TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed suspicious transactions carried out by legislative candidates registered in the Permanent Candidate List (DCT) for the 2024 election. In 2022-2023, the total suspicious transactions of 100 legislative candidates in the DCT reached Rp51.47 trillion.
“We take the 100 largest [suspicious transactions] of the 100 DCT, with the value of Rp51,475,886,106,483. And we also saw that 100 DCT withdrew Rp34,016,767,980,872,” the PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana said at the 2023 PPATK work evaluation agenda in Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 10.
Ivan said that PPATK also examined reports of suspicious transactions as the reporting party suspected criminal acts.
“For example, people who are suspected of corruption made known transactions with different profiles, such as small transactions of hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions, or otherwise, hundreds of millions to billions, are reported to PPATK,” he explained.
Previously, PPATK revealed suspicious campaign funds for the 2024 election that came from various sources, including illegal activities, such as illegal mining and misuse of bank credit facilities in Central Java.
