TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in tandem with the Jakarta Kadin planned a dialogue session with the three presidential candidates, Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Pranowo. The theme of the event is 'Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045'.
The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, January 11, at 11:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) at the Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta.
All presidential candidates will attend the event, which will be divided into three sessions for each candidate to share their economic views and ideas on Indonesia's development.
Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, the acting chairman of Kadin, stated that Indonesia is currently facing various economic challenges.
“Economic challenges from home and abroad are affecting economic growth targets and even the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045,” Yukki said at the press conference at the Djakarta Theater on Wednesday, January 10.
Yukki explained that some of the economic challenges include the possibility of slow economic growth, rising global inflation, climate change, and political stability and security, especially in the context of the 2024 elections.
Furthermore, Kadin Indonesia expressed its commitment as a neutral and inclusive global business organization for the 2024 election. Kadin’s advisory council chairman, Anindya Bakrie, emphasized that Kadin is neutral and invited all presidential candidates to discuss economic issues together.
Anindya also highlighted the importance of presidential candidates presenting their vision and mission on economic issues. “We hope this event will be a lesson in the party of democracy that the public has been waiting for,” he added.
The campaign teams of the three presidential candidates also attended today’s press conference.
